About the Var area

Within approximately a half hour's drive from the coast, Grasse and Draguignan, this rural area has plenty to offer the visitor.
There are ancient hill villages to visit and peaceful countryside with beautiful scenery and a backdrop of the pre-alps. A days outing can easily take you as far as Monaco or Italy, not forgetting the glamorous resorts of Nice or Cannes en route, or the spectacular Gorges de Verdun. Nice airport is 60km from here.
There is plenty of activity available locally, including one of the largest gliding centres in Europe, Lac St Cassien and local swimming pools and tennis courts. There are numerous hiking trails in the area and bicycles can be hired locally.
On a more practical level, there are small local shops in all the villages and a good selection of supermarkets within a 10 minute drive of  the property. There is a good selection of restaurants in the area from budget range to haute cuisine and take-away food is also available.
The climate makes a visit here pleasurable all the year round from clear sunny days in winter, mild springs and autumns to hot days in the summer.
